OUR NEW SEASON STARTS THIS THURSDAY 9TH OCTOBER

BIG GAME SUNDAY

Big Game Sunday will take place next Sunday, 12th October starting at 2pm.

We have 26 qualifiers, and these are listed on the League table, with number of chips won during the season just ended. You will have the choice of purchasing a further 20k for £20 on the day.

Please check that your starting stack is accurate. Multiply your points by 150 and your attendances by 300. Add the two together to give you your starting stack. I have checked these so they should be ok , but any queries must be sorted out before Sunday.

Food will be provided on the day, at 4.30 and 7pm.

If you are going to be late please let me know, but be aware that antes will be applied from the start.

Prize money will be in the region of £3,800

THURSDAY NIGHT

For the first time ever the prizes for the League winners were distributed on the last Thursday of the season. Stevie Dunn was a worthy winner having taken the lead from day 1. He is a worthy 4 time champion, but too modest to mention it!

Ex champion Euan Hanlin finished 2nd and would have won the League by a country mile in a normal season with 461 points. A tremendous performance!

Another ex champion, Ray McLean,  came from the clouds to snatch 3rd place. Well done Ray.

27 members present on Thursday and prize money not too shabby at £1220.

The points winner was Frankie Scott, although a chop was agreed with Frankie, John Muir, Tony Foley , and Russell Graham all collecting £280. Nikki Taylor got the bubble prize of £100.

NEW SEASON

Our new season starts on Thursday and will run until April 2026. We look forward to welcoming you all. .

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO THE LEAGUE STRUCTURE

(1) Points. With effect from this Thursday the points structure will be as follows. Attendance 8 points. 2nd last table 12 points. Final table – 6th to 9th 16; 5th 20; 4th 24; 3rd 28; 2nd 32; 1st 36. 10 points will be awarded for 3rd last table where the number of members present and number of buy ins exceeds 40. Members will still be able to buy points if unable to attend. This has been raised to £5 for 5 points. This money is used to buy equipment.

(2) We have decided to introduce a Joker night. The Joker night will be on the last Thursday in November, December, January and February. Members will have the option of paying an additional £10 to double the points achieved on that night. So if you reach the 2nd last table you will receive 24 points instead of 12. If you win the tournament it’s 72 instead of 36. All Joker funds will be used to buy new equipment with any funds left at the end of the season going towards Big Game Sunday.
